The Beginning

Hello friends and readers. Congratulations! You have stumbled upon my brand new blog!


Before we get to the manis I'd like to briefly introduce myself and tell you a little bit about this blog. You may already know me from instagram, where I go by @theweekendpolisher. Or perhaps you know me from some of my other ventures as keeyoh, which is what my Internet friends call me. My real life friends, were they to actually exist, would call me Amanda. And if you haven't heard of me before reading this I'd like to welcome you (while wondering how you managed to stumble upon my tiny corner of the nail world), but welcome to all!

Now that we have those pleasantries out of the way let's get down to business. Why are we here? You're either here because you love nail polish or because you're my husband and I bribed you into reading my blog. But this blog isn't for him, it's for all my lovely nail friends! I started this nail polish venture almost a year ago, knowing nothing about anything and thinking that any color on my nails other than a muted pink or subtle nude was faddish and only something those crazy kids these days did to stand out in the crowd.

Obviously that's not the case at all! There is a large, wonderful group of women out there that share a passion for pretty manis, glitter and vibrant colors. And thanks to these ladies I've come out of my shell and have been able to embrace a creative side of myself that I never knew existed.

So why theweekendpolisher? Well, because I generally only get to polish on the weekends. My job only allows those muted pinks and subtle nudes I was talking about. So all my fun, happy nail art happens on the weekends. Unless of course I play hookey and skip work to have a mani day, which is known to happen from time to time.

Now that I've rambled enough, let's get on with the nails!

But first some disclaimers and mumbo jumbo. All art is done by me on my natural nails with polishes I purchased unless otherwise stated.
